I INVITE YOU TO….. GET CLOSE!
I want to personally invite you to connect and get close to us this season. We want you to get to know and experience the phenomenal artists and artistry of CDDC. This summer we had an absolute ball! Our multi-touch programming took us to an amazing performance and teaching residency at the Brandeis Institute of Music and Art (BIMA)at Brandeis University, a fun-filled master class at Centenary College, and our filled to capacity NJ SummerDance at Kean University. We kicked off the fall with a featured appearance at Neiman Marcus in Short Hills Mall, celebrating Fashion Week. We have been having a blast in all venues sharing our work and passion. Being in different settings and working with so many wonderful dancers and people feeds our souls and drive. Touring locally, regionally and nationally, gives you a chance to “get close to CDDC” at a performance, teaching residency, master class, open rehearsal, or artist dialogue! Get to know our extraordinary and dynamic dancers Jacquie Dumas Albert, Mica Bernas, Louie Marin, Anna Woolf, Alex Beigelson and join us in welcoming our four newest dancers: Brittanie Brown, Tyner Dumortier, Katlyn Waldo and Brandon Jones. They are all thrilling to watch and simply great fun and inspiring to be around.
I am truly energized by the new work we are creating this season. I am working on a “revival/renewal” of HOURGLASS, an intensely beautiful solo for Mica– with a moving new score and live music by the incomparable cellist, Jessie Reagan Mann. Then I’ll be completing KEYSTONE, a sensuous and visceral duet for Jacquie and Louie with music favorites by Rufus Wainwright and Louie Armstrong, among others. The icing on the cake is the new company premiere of NARCOLEPTIC LOVERS by the incomparable, Doug Elkins. Known for his synthesis of modern, hip-hop, sharp wit and skill, this work will be a company tour de force.
With all this and more, I invite you to “get close to CDDC”. If you are already connected, get closer, if you don’t know us yet…come on in. I personally look forward to welcoming you all.
Best, Carolyn
